POW: Around King Arthur's Table
This POW was interesting and enjoyable to work on because of the story that went along with it, as well as the visual aspect that needed to be included. I am proud of this POW because even though I am not positively sure about my results, I am happy with the process I went through to try to solve this POW.
POW: Growth of Rat Populations
I am proud of this particular POW because of the spreadsheet I made in order to solve the problem. This POW included a lot of assumptions that had to be made for the problem/situation -- and I like that I had to logic my way through some of these assumptions while using a spreadsheet and creating equations.
Silverton Write Up
Semester Reflection
This semester I believe I did well in meeting my goals, managing my time, and being able to work in group settings. I wouldn't say that at the very beginning of this year I had a set of goals that I wanted to achieve -- but I did come to the realization that I grew in ways I didn't know I wanted to. For instance, I realized that I achieved my subconscious goal of working with other people well. I am now able to contribute a fair amount to group work in math rather than expecting others who are "better" at math than me to do the majority of work. I would say that I have gained a lot of confidence in math class, and I am happy about that. I also learned how to manage my time well and make sure I turned in all of my assignments and study for tests appropriately. On the other hand, this semester I realized that I still struggle with math tests and test scores. I would like to practice the process of taking tests, because although I know the content well I still do not get very good scores on my tests. Next semester, I would really like to focus on tests, especially because I will be taking the SAT. I have high expectations for myself and I am sure I will practice profusely so that I am able to score well on the tests that I take.
